OK, so we teased about our updated Rental chiller product line in a previous post. Our biggest change this year is the addition of new sizes in our rental chiller products. Sizes that we will be stocking as well as some quick ship items.

We start with our STAC line of chillers. Many of you already know our STACT air cooled portable chillers, which are used in standard process cooling duty. Because of the rigorous conditions involved with rental duty, we decided to reinvent this STACT product for rental applications. Some of the updates we have included are:

  • Bent form steel base & frame with lift points
  • Additional piping supports to reduce flex
  • Non-proprietary Chiller controller to make field replacement easy
  • 304SS process delivery pump with full bypass valving
  • Addition of Main Unit Circuit Breaker for added protection
  • Circuit Breakers on all motors — No fuses ever to replace!
Smart Family is offering these STAC chillers starting at 5 tons (single circuit) up to 30 tons. All of the units above 5 tons feature two refrigeration circuits for added redundancy. To this point of the rental season, our most popular models are the STAC10D-R, STAC13D-R, and the STAC20D-R. While the 10 ton model is in stock during these summer months, the other sizes are available for quick ship as well.

In addition to our smaller STAC chillers, we have our Ready-for-rental SCOD air cooled scroll chillers. The standard sizes available are 35 ton, 70 ton, and 100 tons. These units are physically larger in size than the STAC products and, because of their size, feature a structural steel base frame with certified overhead lift frame. These SCOD units also feature epoxy coated fins for additional corrosion resistance.

For those of you with larger cooling applications, the SCOD chillers are a great fit. They can operate in varying ambient conditions (up to 105F ambient!) as well as a wide range of fluid temperatures (30F LGT up to 60F LGT).
